Is white chocolate real chocolate?
White chocolate contains cocoa butter, the fat pressed from cacao beans, plus sugar and milk, but no cocoa solids, which is why it has no brown color or roasted flavor. Since cocoa butter comes from the bean, it is genuinely a chocolate product; it just expresses the bean's fat rather than its solids.
